Music sheets suitables for TYGOTC

In order to progress in TYGOTC and in other technical sessions, we sometimes need scores that are under copyright.

You can buy the scores needed on these places:

Pujol’s  “Escuela razonada de la Guitarra” is hard to find, as has no modern re-edition (as far as I know). The original is written both in Spanish and French. On that link you can find some exemplars:

Escuela Razonada de la GuitarraG. Segundo tomo

dsc02875

The estudios by J. Luís Lopategui, also used in TYGOTC, are not so difficult to found. You can try here, for instance.

In other, Aguado’s scores are very common.

Tips to improve your guitar playing… also in 2009

Once New Year passed it’s time to forget good intentions and actually start a series of good habits.

Here you have seven plus one suggestions

1 Don’t be in a hurry with the guitar. Remember that this is a long, long journey. Enjoy every step!

2 Reserve, at least, half an hour every day to play. For a guistarist, perseverance is not a plus, but a real need.

3 Begin every day by slowly playing a series of scales. Then, increase speed progresively.

4 Prior to playing a piece, listen to different versions of it. This will help you to find your own style.

5. Record you own performance and listen to it many times. This will help you to be objectivive about your playing and problam areas.

6. Once you can play it at a certain level, let the piece rest for some time! In a month or more, the piece will mature within you.

7. Design a little repertoire including pieces at your actual level. Then play a little concert, a session for your friends.

8. … and the last one, follow MGS!.
