Music sheets suitables for TYGOTC

In order to progress in TYGOTC and in other technical sessions, we sometimes need scores that are under copyright.

You can buy the scores needed on these places:

Pujol’s  “Escuela razonada de la Guitarra” is hard to find, as has no modern re-edition (as far as I know). The original is written both in Spanish and French. On that link you can find some exemplars:

Escuela Razonada de la GuitarraG. Segundo tomo

dsc02875

The estudios by J. Luís Lopategui, also used in TYGOTC, are not so difficult to found. You can try here, for instance.

Introduccion al Estudio de la Guitarra By Jose Luis Lopategui. For guitar. Plucked Instruments. Published by Editorial de Musica Boileau (Spanish import). (EI0232)

In other, Aguado’s scores are very common.

I just received my English translation of this method from Editions Orphee Inc. at http://www.orphee.com. Originally I was discouraged from buying this method after talking to a musician and music shop owner in Folsom, CA. He told me that he had used it and that it was not an easy guitar method to pursue. In comparison I recently discovered the free download of Pascual Roch’s guitar method using Tarrega’s principles. A quick read through seemed to indicate that it was easier. It’s written in several languages including English and best of all it is free. For the free download of Pacual’s method you can go to http://www.creativeguitar.org and search under sheet music by author’s last name.

  2. Thanks for this information!
In fact, I’d never work with Roch method, and of course, Pujol is not easy, but for me has been always the best way to work any technical aspect, but enjoying it at same time. The result is than one can play hours and hours not realizing, and as you knows that really matters.
