Homenaje “pour le Tombeau de Debussy”, by Manuel de Falla

This a new Session, devoted to a very interesting piece, Manuel de Falla’s “Homenaje pour le Tombeau de Debussy”. It’s a complex, “contemporary” work, that requires the best from performers. Soon we will add more about Falla, its relations with the Spanish Guitar, and his marvelous music.

Homenaje from Montse ARDEVOL on Vimeo.

This “session” do not includes any recomendation about performing, it’s only music.

  1. It’s an interesting piece, Montse, the Falla Homenaje, perhaps more challenging interpretively than technically.

  2. You’re right Mark! In fact, this piece is among most difficult I’ve ever performed.

Would you suppose that Falla was an unhappy person ? I listened to Filomena Moretti’s interpretation of this work and it would seem a little happier. Of course no one can be more happy than this fellow doing Mozart.

I think you captured the essence of what the piece is, it is very sad. After all, the name of the piece says it all: Homenaje “pour le Tombeau de Debussy”. Please post more educational videos. I have improved my playing by just watching your videos.
